Several Posts

I played catch up on my blogging. So there are three other posts besides this one. Sorry for all of the reading, but enjoy!!!

Oh My Gosh!!!

Well, our Escape has been having a bunch of problems for a while. The latest set is going to cost around 1700 bucks in just parts. Not labor, parts. And, they won't know if that will actually fix the problem. Great right??? Not really. So, we had been looking at cars online and doing comparison shopping and tons of reading. Friday night, my parents were watching the kiddos and we were going out on a date. We get to Humble early and Adam asks if we want to stop and check out some of the cars that we were looking up online. Sure, why not, we've got a bunch of time to kill. First stop was the Toyota place, didn't really have time for us. Didn't want us to test drive the car and only seemed interested in how much money we had to put towards a car. Didn't know much about it and overall, we just didn't get a good feeling. We headed over to the Hyundai dealership because it was right next door. We had two there that we wanted to look at. We checked out both of them and then test drove the one we liked better. Wow, it was so nice. We really liked that car. So, we set down with them to crunch some numbers. We liked the color best on one of their demo cars so that dropped the price even more. Plus, the loan guy, his best friend was a firefighter, so they gave us a little better deal. Not sure how much that one was. Anyways, we bought a car. In a little over 2.5 hrs, we were the new owners of a 2008 Hyundai Elantra. OMG!!!!! What were we thinking! LOL. I was so nervous the whole time. We can afford it, it was just that we've never had to make a payment on anything since we've been married. Big step for us. It gets wonderful, wonderful gas mileage. It drives so nice and is quiet. It's Carbon Grey. I love it. It has XM Radio built in and it comes with three months free. It has an auxiliary plug for my IPOD. Here are some pictures, I'm so excited about it!!!

How Does Your Garden Grow??

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine, Shelly, was getting some dirt brought to her house for a garden that she was planting. She had mentioned to me while we were scrapbooking that she was going to be moving it alone. So, the next morning, we loaded up the kiddos, our shovels and the wheelbarrow and headed over to her house. The dirt people dropped off a huge pile and we got to work. After her garden area was full, she still had a ton of dirt left. She gave some to her Mother-in-law and said we could have the rest if we wanted it. So, we decided we should plant a garden too. We loaded up some of the dirt and brought it home. Adam cleared an area with the tractor and we shoveled out the dirt. Then, he went and bought some landscaping timbers and got more dirt. We put the dirt down and made the hills for the plants. Adam dug out the holes for the timbers and put them in the ground. I found a coupon from Lowes for 10 off a 25 dollar purchase. I printed them and bought the fencing and plants. I came home and started working on getting the fence around the posts. Lorie and Oscar came out to help get it the rest of the way around. Then, we built a door for the front. Lorie and I then planted our plants. We planted tomatoes, bell peppers, cantaloupe, and some watermelon. We have a few more things to plant and I'm going to do those today. Here is what it looks like!! Woohoo, can't wait for some fresh veggies!!

Kameron's Mole

So, I was already in bed, and watching a T.V. show. Kameron and Adam were outside messing around. Kameron comes in and asks me for a container for something. He said he needed to put dirt in it. So I found an old Tupperware container and gave it to him. He went back outside for a while and came back in my room. Remember, I'm laying down almost asleep. He proceeds to open the container and lo and behold, a freaking MOLE!!! One of those animals that digs holes in the ground and eats worms. What the heck!!!!! I couldn't believe Adam sent him in the house with that thing to show me. It was a little one, but good grief. So, he really wants to keep it so I took a box I had and cut holes in it and he put it in there. He was really excited about it. Here he is with his mole:

Back in the Game!!!

Well, the Grocery Game that is. Actually, I haven't signed back up yet, I just rocked this week without the list, so I can imagine how good it is. I got all of this:

for the amazing price of $16.58, That's right folks, for $16.58 I bought 10 French loaves, 15 cans of biscuits, 6 crescent rolls, 4 boxes of granola bars, 1 100 calorie pk, 6 cookie doughs, 6 cinnamon rolls, 2 Glade candles, 3 pizza doughs, and 7 Gatorade. The biscuits are little cans so we can cook one a morning and not have waste by having too many. It was so awesome!!! I love the Pillsbury website for ideas on cooking with their product. You can search by product type and it gives you a huge list of different ideas for cooking up meals. We have found so many favorites that way!!! Can't wait to make the southwest chicken bowls again with the french bread!! I have a few more things I have to pick up tomorrow, so I will let you know how successful that trip was. Sorry my picture is a little blurry, I didn't realize til I had put everything away and I wasn't unpacking it to take another picture.

Swingset

Man, getting this thing up was a mission. It was three huge boxes that we had to unpack and sort and prelabel so the assembly would go faster. I then worked on getting the slide put together, a super pain, made the stairs and the rock wall. We worked on getting the frame together and moved it to the site where we were gonna keep it. That was it for that day. A few days later, my dad came over to help and that was the day that pretty much everything got put together. We worked until it was dark and then called it quits for the day. The final day of the project was basically just getting everything together. Securing the slide and stairs on, hooking up the swing part, putting the railings up. Simple things like that. Here is what it looks like complete,

I am super happy with it and the kiddos love it. I want to build an extra section to add the baby swing so everybody can swing at the same time. The only place that sells cedar around here is like almost an hour away so we haven't gotten the rest of the cedar.

Revolution Money Exchange

Well, I was reading on the website that I spend most of my time on, Kingwood Underground. I came across a listing about a new paypal type website that was offering a promotion if you signed up. They lady posting about it was wanting people to sign up so they could buy her stuff she was selling. I wasn't interested in anything, so I didn't think much about it. Today, my SIL called and asked me about it. She was reading about it on a different site. I looked into it again and told her that if she sent me the link, I would sign up. So, it seems pretty cool. It is free to send money, unlike Paypal who charges you a fee everytime you do something. The cool thing about it was that it gave you 25 bucks to sign up. It is a promotion that they are running until the 15th of this month. Once you get the money, you can just transfer it to your checking account or I believe they will mail you a check. It seems pretty cool, an easy way to make 25 bucks. Check it out and tell me what you think.
